Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the frequently asked questions we receive. If your question is not answered below feel free to give us a call.
HOW EXPERIENCED DO I HAVE TO BE?
We cater for all levels of experience even those that have never touched a horse before!!! Range of ages that we have had are from two years to ninety years. Young children can be lead from their horse by the Guide. They can also go at the front of Mum or Dad depending on their experience, which we will decide on the day. For the experienced riders we can take you on horses that can and do want to run and are also very agile when getting around the mountain tracks.
CAN I BRING MY OWN HORSE?
We welcome riders and their horses. Please discuss this at the time of booking.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Shoes, boots or trainers with a heel. Long trousers or track pants, no shorts. Bring a change of clothes in case you get wet when crossing the river. Sunblock.
WILL I GET WET?
You may get wet on one of the water crossings so it is a good idea to bring spare footwear and trousers.
HOW DO I PAY?
Visa, Mastercard, Eftpos, Cash
DOES THERE NEED TO BE A MINIMUM NUMBER?
No. Our treks are tailor made and we go out on a trek with individual clients as well as groups.
IS THERE A MAXIMUM NUMBER?
Approximately 12 – 15 riders at a time. Larger groups can be split up so other activities can be done in conjunction with the trek.
WHAT DOES PEEL FOREST HORSE TREKKING PROVIDE?
- Tea & Coffee.
- Lunch & Snacks with the full day trek.
- All meals, refreshments and accommodation with multi day treks.
We’ve been riding here with our farm Stay guests a few times and it’s always great fun. Bert the owner is a laid back entertaining character with a dry southern sense of humour and he’ll take you riding through the forest and even through the river if you like. The horses are really used to learners and behave really well, just watch out for tree branches in the forest. Dave, via Trip Advisor
